Yoga

Yoga is an ancient practice originating in India, likely as far back as 5,000 years ago. Its original purpose was to foster physical and spiritual harmony. Since then, yoga has grown in popularity and today, people across the world take part in yoga practices for both their physical and mental wellbeing.

The health benefits of regular yoga practice are numerous; research has shown that yoga can help with improved flexibility and strength, better sleep quality, increased focus and productivity, lower levels of stress and anxiety, improved posture, better digestion and circulation – just to name a few. Many of these improvements come from the various poses practiced during yoga classes. There are a multitude of poses that vary from easy to more advanced postures depending on your current level of experience. Popular beginner poses include mountain pose (standing tall), cat-cow pose (a flow from table top to arching your back), down dog (arms extended downwards) and warrior pose (arms stretched wide). As you gain more confidence, there are a plethora of additional poses like bird-of-paradise or eagle arm balance that can add variety to your practice.

In December 2014, the United Nations declared June 21st International Yoga Day in recognition of the global appreciation for this ancient tradition and its profound impact on our overall wellbeing. Celebrations take place all over the world – some locations host outdoor sessions with hundreds or thousands of participants, while others simply invite local studios or individual instructors to lead community classes. However it’s celebrated in each region, it’s a reminder that yoga is accessible to everyone no matter where they live or what their background is!

The practice of yoga not only helps humans stay physically fit but also keeps diseases at bay through various postures which massage different parts of the body such as arms, abdomen and even organs within them thus allowing blood circulation along with increased metabolic rate that directly affects one's immunity levels thus providing defence against many ailments if practiced regularly without any injury concerns with proper guidance. So it is suggested by medical professionals all around the world to incorporate regular routine sessions involving basic yoga postures under qualified professionals so that one may benefit long term through its preventive care approach rather than curing after sickness occurred which may require far higher amount time effort & cost on short term basis instead being mindful from beforehand itself regarding personal fitness goals & routine .
